Virtus Eagle – Non-Lead Projectiles

This is the flagship of the hunting line of projectiles by Virtus Precision. This projectile is unlike any other solid copper monolithic bullet design on the market. The projectile is designed to fragment at very low impact velocities and will break up at three equal parts at impact velocities as low as 760feet per second.

The Eagle line of projectiles are currently being used by a small number of Scottish game keepers with stunning results in regards to accuracy and terminal performance. The bullet provides the most humane kill possible by any solid copper projectile on the market.

This projectile is recommended for those who seek maximum terminal performance. All Virtus Precision bullets have been designed to accommodate a wide variety of twist rates in any given calibre.

Virtus Merlin – Non-Lead Projectiles

The Virtus Merlin line of copper monolithic projectiles has similar characteristics compared to the Virtus Eagle line. This bullet has been developed for a higher ballistic co-efficient in mind resulting in better retained velocity and energy over a longer distance. This bullet will also have less wind drift at extended ranges compared to the Virtus Eagle line of bullets.

Compared to the same weight class of other well-known projectile manufactures, it is second to none with far better terminal performance due to the unique design. It has been created to engage live quarry at extended ethical distances within the prescribed impact velocities.

Most lead projectiles will have good terminal performance at 1800fps impact velocity and higher. Some of the premium lead projectile will perform from even 1600fps impact velocities but have the current issue of contaminating the carcass of any live quarry with lead. Tests for terminal performance have shown that the Virtus Merlin projectile will still preform exceptionally well at impact velocities as low as 1500 feet per second making it very attractive as a non-lead alternative.

• Guaranteed accuracy in the recommended twist rates at normal muzzle velocities
• High ballistic co-efficient making it the ideal bullet for extended ranges above 1500fps impact velocity for guaranteed terminal performance
• Trailed and tested by British deer stalkers and an ex-special forces sniper
• Low ricochet hazard after impact velocity above 1500fps as it is, like the Virtus Eagle, designed to break up into three parts
• No need to change the point of aim on live quarry to get the best terminal performance
• The projectile can be used at lower muzzle velocities and therefore less pressure on equipment like rifle barrels causing it to last longer
• Devastating performance all round from a non-lead copper monolithic projectile.
• Designed to have 88% weight retention on average after impact. The petals are smaller than the Eagle design and bigger than the Osprey design.

The Virtus Osprey projectile has been devolved and tested by one of the UK’s most experience deer stalkers and mentors, therefore it can be used with confidence.

Virtus Osprey – Non-Lead Projectiles

The Virtus Osprey line of bullets have been created for terminal performance at low impact velocities but with more penetration in mind and less meat damage.

The projectile has been designed for more controlled expansion in mind at low impact velocities and better penetration causing very good terminal performance at ranges up 250m plus The better penetration and terminal performance of the projectile will cause a good blood trial on even a marginal shot placement.

The Virtus Osprey projectile has been devolved and tested by one of the UK’s most experience deer stalkers and mentors, therefore it can be used with confidence.

Benefits of the Virtus Osprey projectiles:

• Guaranteed accuracy in the recommended twist rates at normal muzzle velocities.
• High ballistic co-efficient very similar to the Virtus Merlin line of copper monolithic projectiles.
• Trailed and tested by one of the UKs most experienced deer stalkers and assessors.
• No need to change the point of aim on live quarry to get the best performance.
• The projectile can be used at lower muzzle velocities and still have very good performance.
• Intended for impact velocities above 1500fps.
• The Osprey projectiles have been designed to have about 95% weight retention due to the size of the petals breaking off.
• Of all the Virtus designs, the Osprey projectiles will cause the least amount of meat damage. It is recommended to have more than 3000FPS at the muzzle for good terminal performance.
• The same load can be used on Osprey design compared the Merlin and Target designed projectiles. There will be no point of impact change for the same calibre with the same weight category of projectile.

Virtus Target – Non-Lead Projectile

The Target line of Virtus Precision projectiles is exceptional in every way. All Virtus precision projectiles are extremely concentric and consistently made to the highest standards possible utilising the highest spec Swiss made lathes available in the manufacturing process. The pure copper being used for the projectiles will be tested in a lubritorium to ensure that our quality control will always remain in-tact for the most consistent results. Consistency breeds accuracy….

• Highest possible BC in weight class.
• Highest possible BC extreme spread and standard deviation.
• Extremely consistent bullet lengths and weight
• Copper quality hardness consistent.
• Not to be used for hunting purposes.

The main benefit of the Virtus projectiles is that you can use the same propellant charge weight per weight calibre and achieve the same accuracy but tailor your need for what you would like to achieve.
